Happy Father's Day Dad!

Today we celebrated Father's Day. It was quite a day. We ate "red, white and blue waffles" with Eric's parents, we moved couches out of my brother's apartment, we moved couches out of our house, we moved couches into our house, we drove with the heat on and windows down (my dad's truck over heated), we at sushi, we shopped Kmart, we wrestled and we rapped.

Today was supposed to be a special day for Eric, but it also happened to be the day that we purchased my parents' old couches from my brother. So instead of being nice and relaxing this day required a significant amount of manual labor. To counter the manual labor, Eric and I went out for lunch together while his parents' watched the kids. Eric decided that he would like sushi (I've never been OUT for sushi - I've only ever had sushi while standing around a floral design table with my international co-workers). We drove downtown Excelsior and walked to Yumis. Only to discover they wouldn't open for another 3 hours. We found out, after calling quite a few other sushi restaurants that very few sushi places in the twin cities are open for lunch! Who knew? Finally we found one, Origami's at Ridgedale Mall. Although the service was mediocre, the sushi was delicious! We at eel, crab, tuna, cucumbers, edamame, Here are pictures to make your mouth water...

When we arrived back to Eric's parents house where the kids at spent the day, this is the site that greeted us...

...needless to say, the kids had a blast and were well cared for!

We then made a quick stop at Kmart to pick up something Eric needs for VBS and the kids enjoyed a Daddy special - actually putting money in the rides! I was secretly hoping Emmett would be 16 before he realized that those machines move!

The day concluded with some good old fashioned Daddy daughter/son wrestling. The kids didn't give Daddy any mercy...

And finally, here is the gift that Eric and Amber (Eric's sister) gave to their dad YEARS ago that we rap every year. Probably the most used Father's Day gift ever:

"Happy Father's Day...
Happy Father's Day Dad.
You look really good
But you smell really...word"

Eisley and Emmett must have had just too much fun at Grandma and Papa's house. What a darling sight to come home to. Way to go great Grandparents!
