The Mustard Seed

Today we took a field trip to The Mustard Seed, a garden center near us. In addition to the normal trees, bushes and flowers, they also have animals and a play area. It's a great outing for the kids!
On a totally different note, my home is often over taken by super heros. Tonight it was "The Masked Bandit" and "Little Bandito".

The Wheels on the Bus

Go round and round...
...round and round...round and round...
...the wheels on the bus...
...go round and round...
...all through the town!

Pet Rock Craft

We made "pet rocks" today. The idea thanks to Skip to My Lou.

STEP 1: Collect rocks from outside.
STEP 2: Get out your supplies (paint, smocks, glue, googly eyes, pipe cleaners...)
STEP 3: Paint the rocks!
STEP 4: Prepare for this reaction when you try to take the paint away.
STEP 5: Glue rocks together if wanted and add embellishments - eyes, legs...
STEP 6: Let your critters dry.
If you're curious what any of the above critters are, here is the description, in the kids' own words.
White w/ brown pipe cleaners: "lion" - upside down lion - upside down b/c the legs are drying
Red rock with black legs: "lady bug"
Blue rock : "Hammer head shark"
Green rock: "Toucan beak"
Brown rock: "again" - I have no idea what this means or if I misunderstood
Rocks w/ black tape: "monkey" which is taped together so the glue will dry

More fun to do with your daddy

Playing at the beach. One of the many things that is more fun to do with your daddy.

Eric and Emmett swimming together.
Eisley napping in Daddy's arms...precious!
Building sand castles.
Building moats and tributaries.

Now she's sleeping in my arms.
It was a tad chilly, but we still had a blast!

29 weeks

29 weeks. I think it's about time for a couple pictures and a brief prego update.

I have done zero baby prep.
No baby clothes are out, kids are still in their same rooms, haven't purchased new bedding, car seat is dirty and dusty in the garage. I still have 2-3 months, but I know they'll fly by!

Inspired by my friend's prego self portrait, I took one of my "view from here."
29 weeks. Feeling great. I love being pregnant.
Only complaints, pelvic pressure and sciatic pain.
Just a good excuse to put my feet up.

I'm up 11 lbs. Not bad, but I'm still heavier than I've ever been.
However, what I have to show for it is well worth it.
He has the hiccups right now.

Last Day of VBS

Our friends organized a bake sale to raise money for VBS. The kids and I helped set up.

Yummy!
Smiles!
Love it!

4 kids and a beach

I took the four kids to the beach. I'd do it again in a second. We had a blast. It was a bit chilly, cloudy and even sprinkled. The good side of that was that we practically had the place to ourselves and I didn't have to worry as much about sunscreen! Here's a summary of our day.

Water.
Sand.
Blankets.
Makeshift Frisbee.
Goosebumps.
Imagination.
3 ft.
Emmett: "Mom, what does this say?" Pointing to the yellow buoy.
Mom: "It says three feet."
Emmett: "Do I have three feet?" Looking down at his feet.
