He did, she did...

We went to Taylors Falls today and while
he did this...
She did this...
When we all did this...
He explored like this...
She explored like this...
After the hike, she rejuvenated like this...
and then this...
He rejuvenated like this...
Given the opportunity to continue hiking, he climbed like this...
She climbed like this...
And then we all had to smile this like...
Cute story of the day. As often as he could, Emmett would venture off the path to climb on the rocks. I would follow him for safety (and fun). During one of our little detours Emmett said, "Climbing big rocks gives me more energy. Does it give you more energy?"
"Yes, it actually does!"
We continued to chat about hiking big rocks and getting energy. I got a kick out of the fact that Emmett's observation was so true. I also would get a little more lethargic and bored when just walking along a normal path, but given the opportunity to climb on rocks or through a more challenging terrain, I felt rejuvenated. Whatever it may be, the distraction, the challenge, the adrenaline; Emmett is right, "climbing big rocks does give me more energy!"

Emmett caught his first fish!

Before beginning our trip back to MN, Emmett and Grandpa had to go fishing.
They put the worm on the hook.
They waited patiently for a fish to bite.
They didn't have to wait long before a little blue gill had attached himself to the hook.
Emmett didn't know quite what to think.
Eisley wanted to touch it but Emmett didn't.
One fish was enough. Then it was time for Emmett to learn how to row a boat.

Grandparents' 60th Anniversary

Today we celebrated my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary.
I was really bad at taking pictures.
Here are my two cousins with Emmett and Eisley.
My grandparents.
