You know you're a mom when...

So the MOPS theme this year is, "Together on Planet Mom." The basic idea, to my understanding is that so much changes when you become a mom, that you don't really fully understand it until you've been to Planet Mom. At our training on Saturday one of the coordinators ran through a list of things, "You've been to planet mom if..." and the one that cracked me up the most was, "You've been to planet mom if you've gone to the bathroom with the door open, forgetting that you had company over." So that hasn't happened to me, except that I never have the luxury of closing the bathroom door, so I can still totally relate.

That got me thinking that it would be fun to do our own version, "you've been to planet mom if..." or otherwise titled, "You know you're a mom when..." My brain isn't functioning very creatively tonight so I'll just put one for now.

"You know you're a mom when..."

...your idea of a pedicure is soaking your feet in the bathtub while you bath your kids.

You know you're a mom when you start saying the same things your mom said to you and you swore you'd never say them to your own children.

or

You know you're a mom when you actually don't mind driving a mini-van.

BTW I've forgotten to close the bathroom door with guests over...oh well! :)

You know you're a mom when...most of your conversations with friends happens by answering each other's questions back and forth over voice mail.

You know you're a mom when...you routinely leave the house without showering and sometimes without brushing your teeth (but that part happens inadvertently.)
