Novel (not the book). That's how I would describe today. We had 2 totally new, unique experiences. With the monotony of many of our days, this change of scenery and activity was really fun!
The day started off with a trip to the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota Campus. The study was to see if children learn new words better during pretend play. Emmett really enjoyed following directions, being asked questions and performing certain tasks. Eisley enjoyed chewing on crayons. The children were given stickers in exchange for their participation. I was given the option of a t-shirt or a Target gift card. I almost asked, "Has anyone ever chosen the t-shirt?"
Since the Child Development building is right next to my dad's office we had to make a stop to see Grandpa! Emmett asked, "Grandpa, did you build this building?" I'm getting such a kick out of the things that enter this little guy's brain and then come out of his mouth.

Dude, like there were totally 5 adults there! And we still, because of the house making pary, need to try to plan a play date day.
Enjoy the snow day!
Yeah, I didn't count you ;) but maybe I should have :). I think we're much in need of a play date!

What a wonderfully fun day! Looks like a lot of fun chaos, which, in my opinion, is the very best kind! :)
I worked in the Psych lab in college and ran a baby study for my thesis. My subjects were 17-18 months old. It was so fun and parents LOVED bringing their kids in, though we didn't give out gift cards at the end! I did end up with some babysitting jobs out of the deal though! I'm totally going to bring Bud in for studies. :)
Since when did our handsome young man, become a darling little girl? Furry hooded coat, longer hair, pants tucked into... UGGS?!?! And on the U of M campus. Do you really want our son to develop a complex?
