What she likes

This little girl is already so clearly her own unique person with a big personality.
She feeds her babies "tutties."
And likes to wear high heals. Or really just any pair of shoe as long as she gets to pick it and put it on herself. She pretty much likes to do everything herself, including picking out her clothes. I can take no credit for the darling ensemble she picked out today.
And she doesn't care to play with babies for very long. She has more important things to do, apparently.

VBS!

Today was the first day of VBS. Neither child is old enough to really be in VBS, but they both had a blast in the childcare. I am one of the photographers, but can't use any images of other kids for personal use (which is why the other kids are cut out of the picture below).

It's so fun watching your kids when they don't know you're there! I managed to photograph the one year olds with out Eisley ever knowing I was there.
Eric wrote the large group script and had the crowd laughing as he played "Captain Barnacle."
And Emmett smiled for the camera. One of the few kids who'd actually smile. I guess he's used to it!

Another sister

A few days ago Emmett said to me, "Mom, since we're going to have another brother, then we need another sister too!" "We'll have to see about that!"

Then, this weekend I overheard this conversation.
Emmett: Dad, we're going to have another brother, we need another sister too.
Eric: I don't know, do you think we could handle another Eisley?
Emmett: No, not another Eisley, a different girl.
Eric: I don't know if I can handle another girl!
Emmett: But mom can!

Father's Day Celebration

We celebrated Father's Day today because Eric has major VBS prep tomorrow. Eric and Emmett went to see "Toy Story 3" which they both loved. I look forward to seeing it when it's a $1!

Then we went to Burger Jones for lunch. What a fun restaurant! The fry tower was delicious. My burger was tastey but I barely muscled 1/2 of it down.
Eric ordered the "White Trash Burger". I think he ordered it just so he could tell stories about it. And stories he has told. It's pretty much a heart attack in a bun; breaded and fried bacon, cheese curds and velveeta. Yum?
We had a wonderful day. The children are blessed to have Eric as their father. He is patient and loving. He is playful and silly. He is selfless and dependable. He loves God, he loves me and he loves his kids. Happy Father's Day!

Full fun day!

We had a GREAT day and got SO much done!

First we bought a bunk bed at a garage sale - including 1 mattress - for $20!!!! It's old and pretty beat up, but Eric wanted a "project" that he could refinish anyway, so this will (hopefully) be perfect. And if it's not, it's only $20! (Will post pictures as we start working on it).

Then we met friends at THIS fabulous water park/play area. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
Then we went to Babies R Us and bought Eisley a "Piddle Pad". I used to laugh at these, but now that Eisley is mostly wearing underwear, the car seems to be the primary (only) place where accidents happen. I'm tired of cleaning her carseat!

Next we went to get Emmett's hair trimmed. I could only bear to cut 1.5 inches. They even washed his hair this time and he did GREAT! Hair washing is always a battle around here, so I was very proud that he didn't put up a fuss for the stylist at all! I only have a before picture. Will have after pictures tomorrow. Look at these lovely locks! It's so hard for me to cut it! I LOVE his long hair!
Our final stop of the day was at Once Upon a Child. Each store is very different and I've fallen in love with the Shakopee store (for you Minnesotans). I go through my kids clothes to look for items to sell; things they've never worn or that don't fit just right. They always buy at least a few items, but I never walk out of there ahead. I always buy more than I sell, but still, I feel good to be getting rid of stuff! So, one of tonight's purchases were these ADORABLE wellies. Isn't "wellies" a fun word!? I lived in England when I was a toddler, and my mom still uses a few English words. This is one that's stuck with me. And if the word, "wellies" isn't cute enough, look at this princess (in her $.75 garage sale dress) wearing her new floral wellies!
