My sweethearts on our way to church.
Emmett suggested this pose.

Photo Booth

Can't believe this is the first time I've tried Photo Booth on my computer. I thought Eisley would get a kick out of it, but I couldn't get a smile out of her - we were both too tired. Also making an appearance, my 31 week belly.

On a lighter note, we celebrated my birthday tonight with my in-laws. We went out for BBQ and then came home and the guys installed my new screen/storm door! I'm going to LOVE it!

Beach Party

I took the four kids to our friend's 3rd birthday party at their neighborhood beach.
Emmett was an absolute gentleman. Saying, "May I", "Please" and watching out for Sylvan when he fell in the water and wandered off.
The kids enjoyed their cake.
Eisley even "smiled" for a picture with her cake face.
Friday evening my in-laws took us out for dinner for my birthday. Dickey's BBQ is becoming one of our favorite places to eat out.
Free pickles...
...and free ice cream!
Yummy!

Random thoughts I don't want to forget

Random thoughts I don't want to forget:
  • Can I consider Eisley's ability to fully undress herself in record time a blessing? I know 3 year olds who can't do that!
  • Emmett calls an ottoman and "ottomint"
  • the other day Emmett said, "I'm so cold I'm sugaring."
"You're what?"
"I'm sugaring."
"Sugaring?"
"Yep, sugaring."
"Do you mean shivering?"
"Oh yeah, shivering."
  • Emmett says, "a long ways ago" instead of "a long time ago."
  • Eisley I think has turned a corner in potty training. Except for 1 bad day, she hasn't had an accident (even in a pull up since that's all she's been wearing) in a week!
  • Emmett says, "miss-ed" - like "I miss-ed Daddy." Often when he's saying a word in past tense he will make it two syllables.

Closet

Word of Advice to all Parents: All you need is a jam packed, disorganized closet (one that can't get messed up) to keep your kids entertained long enough to get your laundry put away.

4th of July weekend

A long weekend at the cabin. It was only a couple days, but man it feels like we all came home quite a bit older. Here is just a summary, I'll post more pictures and stories later.

Eisley: No accidents all weekend (Thursday - Monday)! (except the 4.5 hour car rides in which we pleaded with her to use her diaper). Her language absolutely exploded; preferring to speak in phrases, such as "I don't like that." Lovely.
Emmett: With the encouragement of his father (a strong and confident swimmer, unlike his mother) became exceedingly comfortable in the water. Swimming with just his life jacket, paddling a kayak by himself, jumping off the raft and riding a gigantic inner tube. I was so proud of my little boy to over come his fears. Also so proud to have a husband so loving and patient with a water-timid son (more like his mother).
My baby turned 30 weeks.
And last but not least, I turned 29. My age is not why I'm frowning. I'll tell this hilarious story later. Oh and I can't forget to mention that my good friend had her baby on the 4th - my birthday! I was up all night praying for her, not knowing she was in labor. So thrilled to have a little birthday buddy!
Good night! More stories and photos coming soon!

4th of July

My 29th birthday was a wonderful one.
My super hero family treated my like a queen the whole weekend. I even slept in almost every day (till 7:00!)

After a delicious breakfast, taco lunch and ice cream cake...

...we blew up inner tubes and rafts for our float down the river.

We calmly floated down the river and even did the (small) rapids at the end. Emmett did it over and over and over...

My inner tube busted about half way through the ride. I floated into a branch and as I tried to unstick myself, the branch punctured through and the air bubbles exploded around me. It was hilarious! I sat there unable to move (thanks to unborn baby and Eisley both weighing me down) until it was fully deflated. Luckily we had brought an extra tube!
Emmett waiting patiently to be sent down the rapids.
Emmett going down the rapids.
Eisley is afraid of dogs, even 7 lbs ones.
