Dying Easter Eggs

Today the kids and I dyed Easter Eggs for the first time - first time with the kids that is. Eisley of course just banged hers on the table.

Emmett had a great time with the stickers.

Here are my tips from my very limited experience: 1) Use a kitchen towel to stabilize the eggs while the kids decorate them 2) cut the sticker sheet into pieces so each child has their own alotment of stickers.
Eisley got sick this evening (and because I'm writing this post later and back dating it I will also add that we all ended up getting sick consecutive days. 24 flu bug).

Super Woman!

You've really got to celebrate the small victories as an at home mom. My victory today was fixing the clogged drain. Afterwards I seriously felt like Super Woman! Oh and did I mention, I fixed the drain while Eisley sat on my lap and Emmett photographed the event?

Como Zoo

Today the kids (both nanny and my own) met some friends at the Como Zoo. One of our favorite (and free) places to go!
The giraffes. So cool!
Emmett and Flora looking for the mountain lion.
Eisley and my friend's son sharing a stroller.
All the kids fascinated by the woman educating us on the Bison.
Just one of many moments in the day where I am so grateful for these two amazing children.

The lunch time chaos.

Potato Stamps

Emmett loves writing and is doing so well! To translate his writing below: the first picture says "Eisley" and the second is "Mommy."

Then our Easter craft was doing potato stamps. It may have been a stretch, but I thought the potato shape resembled an Easter Egg.

Palm Sunday and Passover

Palm Sunday children's parade. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Emmett, Mr. Center of Attention, walked along the wall with his eyes down and his hands in his mouth the whole time. Totally not himself. It was so funny!
Eric's family has a tradition of celebrating Passover. I love this tradition and this year, for the first year, it seemed Emmett really was able to grasp parts of it.

Purse and a phone

Oh boy! I didn't know this would start so early! At least she's talking to her Daddy or Papa.

Emmett's new bike!

Emmett got a new bike. We were going to give it to him for Easter, but he saw it in Eric's car so the surprise came early. That's fine though, we just got in a few extra days of biking!

Just another day

Get out the halloween costumes, try them all on.
Play golf outside.
$1.50 on this kite, well spent!
Mix it up and use your chalk on paper, then spray with hairspray so the chalk doesn't rub off.
I love that Eisley has proper hand holding form.

At the park again

At the park again! The kids jumped right in where they left off last summer.

Emmett's favorite being the swings. Both the big boy swing and the baby swings. (I realize I use these adjectives for almost everything; baby cups are sippy cups while big boy cups don't have lids, baby toilet is the little one on the floor the big boy/girl is the real toilet...it goes on and one. I'm obviously trying to make the "big boy/girl" things more enticing.)

Eisley absolutely HATED the swings but LOVED the slides! Despite her initial trepidation, she went all by herself and as you can see by the time she reached the bottom of the slide, all fear had turned into a gigantic smile.

Flooding

When your town is on the news because of flooding, what else is there to do besides go check it out!? We went downtown Chaska to check out the Minnesota River where the roads have been closed.

I LOVE this picture.
