Sheet Puzzle Game

We played a version of our Laundry Basket Puzzle game (another heavy work activity) - this was the Sheet Puzzle Game. Puzzle pieces on one end of the room, puzzle board on the other end. The kids took turns pulling each other back and forth; collecting puzzle pieces and placing them in the puzzle board.
I even took a turn riding while the kids pulled me! Look at those hard working expressions.
Then we worked on fine motor skills by beading Penne pasta onto yarn.

Inside Outside

INSIDE: We love our dot paints around here (thanks Mom!). Kids love to paint and I loved the slightly less messy design of the dot paint! We dot paint traced our names, made dot animals and dot painted over white crayon.
My mom also bought us these funky paint brushes. After one paint activity, I opted to paint with water on construction paper. It satisfied the kids and I was satisfied with no messy clean up!
Then we bundled up and headed OUTSIDE.

We biked and scooted (unsuccessfully).
Sledded and slid.
Pushed and pulled (gotta get our "heavy work" in!).

Smitten

She's smitten.
We all are. Look at this boy!
It doesn't get much cuter than this!
And a cute Emmett story. As we're getting ready for church this morning Emmett tells me he doesn't want to wear his sweater vest. I ask why, he answers "I don't want the girls to chase me!" "Why would the girls chase you?" "Because I look so handsome! I don't want to look that handsome!"

Here are the highlights of our Christmas with Eric's family.

What are they doing?

Can you guess what these kids are doing?
Nope, not watching a video. Not playing computer games.
Playing with Photobooth. These technologically advanced little kids. They crack me up!
Now guess what Emmett is doing...
Yep, he's sliding down off the edge of the retaining wall in negative degree weather. After bundling up all 5 kids, Emmett was the only one who lasted out there longer than 5 minutes. Truth be told, it was even too cold for me. It was seriously freezing! But, Emmett was having a blast!

Giggles

Laundry Basket Puzzle Game

Heavy work. I've heard this word being used alot lately. Basically finding activities for the kids to use their muscles - pushing, pulling, lifting.
Today the kids took turns pushing each other back and forth down the hall...
...at one end of the hall was the puzzle...
...and at the other end were the puzzle pieces.
All the kids, even Ender, enjoyed it!
