Ender
We loved this name right away. I believe we had it chosen even before I got pregnant. Ender is a derivative of the name Andrew. Andrew is Eric's younger brother and we love naming our children after our family members (Emmett and Eisley's middle names are both after their grandparents). Ender is also a character in a series of science fiction books by Orson Scott Card; "Ender's Game" being the most popular. Of course, the biblical character Andrew is another bonus!
Eli
Eli is a derivative of the name Elias. Elias is my brother. We also love the biblical reference to Elijah and Elisha.
E
We have all E name children. This was not intentional. When Eric and I first started thinking about baby names before we got pregnant with Emmett, we realized that vowels were used in both our family names. The names in our families are Alyssa, Elias, Eric, Amber, Andrew. So we decided that we'd name all of children with vowels. It just happened that E names were our favorite names. Not sure if we'll stick with Es if we have 4th child. I'm not opposed to doing a different vowel. I guess we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it!
